NicheCommand
Domain intelligence, explained

Hundreds of thousands of domains expire every day. We find the handful that were real businesses.

A domain name that once carried a real business keeps an audience, a reputation and a standing that take years to build. NicheCommand's job is to find those names on the day they return to the market, rank them by business potential, and vet each one before you spend a cent. This page explains how, in plain terms.

Five steps, every day

Think of it as a disciplined funnel. Everything goes in at the top; only names with a defensible case come out at the bottom, each with its reasons attached.

Scan

Every day, hundreds of thousands of domain names return to the market. We look at all of them, every day, without exception. Nothing is sampled, nothing is skipped.

Roughly nineteen in twenty names never meant anything: random strings, throwaway registrations, names nobody ever built on. These are set aside immediately, and we keep a note of why, so nothing disappears silently.

III

Investigate

For the names that remain, we reconstruct what they used to be. Was there a real business behind this name? For how long? What did it do, who did it serve, and did it ever earn an audience? Each answer is tied to the evidence that supports it.

Categorize

Every former business is placed in the sector it belongs to, whether that is retail, local services, publishing, software, health, finance, education, travel or a specialist hobby. Each sector has its own yardstick, because a good publishing name and a good local-services name are not judged the same way.

Finally each name receives a clear priority and a confidence rating. The priority says how much attention it deserves today. The confidence says how sure we are, so a strong finding on thin evidence never looks the same as a strong finding on solid evidence.

02

What a priority means

Four tiers, deliberately blunt. The point is to tell you where to spend your attention, not to produce a number for its own sake.

SPrimeA former business with strong standing in its sector, obtainable now. Act today.
AStrongClear business history and a good fit. Shortlist and review this week.
BDecentSome history, some fit. Review when time allows.
CLoggedRanked and kept on record, but out of your way.

Confidence travels with every priority. Two names can both be rated Strong while one rests on years of evidence and the other on a few fragments. The confidence rating makes that difference visible, so you know which findings are solid and which deserve a second look.

03

Four checks before you spend

A name that looks good on paper can still be a bad purchase. Every candidate that reaches the shortlist passes four checks, and each result is backed by evidence you can review.

01

Brand conflict

Is there an existing company or brand that could claim this name? A hidden clash should surface before you invest, not after.

02

Reputation

Did the name ever carry a toxic or abusive past? A name that looks clean but carries baggage is flagged before you commit.

03

Availability

Can you actually obtain it right now? We check, so you never chase a name that is already gone.

04

Business status

Was this a going concern or an empty shell? Each name is graded from dormant to actively run, so a parked placeholder never reads like a real business.

04

What a finding looks like

A strong candidate arrives as one card: the priority, the confidence, the sector it belongs to, the four checks, and the evidence behind them. The example on the right is illustrative, not a live finding.

Every call is on record. Whether you shortlist, pass or buy, the decision is timestamped and kept, together with the evidence that was on the table at the time. Names you acquire move into your portfolio and stay tracked.

What we deliberately do not do

01

We do not guess

Nothing is asserted without evidence you can review. If a fact could not be established, the finding says so rather than filling the gap.

02

We do not replace legal advice

The brand-conflict check is a screen, not a trademark clearance. Before you register or build on a name, a proper legal check in your market remains your responsibility.

03

We do not buy on your behalf

You decide, you purchase. We tell you what is worth your attention and why, and we keep watching the names you shortlist until they become obtainable.

04

We do not hide the rejects

Every name considered, including the ones set aside, is kept with the reason. If something is not in your queue, you can always see why.

Tell us which sectors matter to you.

Your priorities are applied to the very next day's run. Your best finds arrive every morning, summarized, with the evidence attached.
